Flamenco red shoes
When I was little I loved flamenco shoes. I remember the day my parents bought me my first pair, I was about two or three years old and I wore them all the time. Even at school. They were my favorite shoes without a doubt.
Almost twenty years later things haven’t changed too much. Yesterday I was walking down the street and a little three-year-old girl stared at me with her eyes and mouth wide open. Then she started to run in her mum’s direction and shouted: she's wearing flamenco shoes! I wish she got a pair.. as I did when I was her age.

Waiting in pink and red
Paseo de Sarasate (Pamplona) |
Pastel pink, white, fuchsia, brown, red.. what a risky combination. But I guess that was what I liked the most when I photographed her. She was so confident about herself and you could notice it. She kept my attention. Definitely.
Strawberry LuShoes
I used to love my bestfriend's shoes even before I was told that a pair of leopard bows were making its walks a bit cuter. That's exactly what a nice pair of shoes deserves.

I love the heart embroidery design |
Who said orange doesn't go well with red? And what about pink? I've always loved the pink and red combination. The little girl wears them together in a super natural way and I'm sure it was her who told her mum what to wear! It was funny to find her because I had chosen the same colours for my outfit today.

Hotel Vila Galé Lagos (Portugal) and my new red ballerinas |
It is always surprising to go into a hotel looking forward to spend a couple of nice days in Lagos with your family and finding fashion drawings on the walls, a peculiar Little Red Riding Hood dress which I definitely loved (among others) and meeting rooms named "Coco Chanel", "Giorgio Armani", "Versace", "Valentino"..

Sunny reddish walk.
Paseo de Sarasate- Avda. de San Ignacio (Pamplona) |
If one day I manage to see a young lady being such smart and stylish as old women I promise I’ll share it with you. For the time being I can’t resist the temptation of taking pictures of these women. Each one is unique, a walking story about an entire life. Hopefully it seems as if fashion trends don’t have a place between them and, because of it, their personal taste and decision at the time of getting dressed keep untouched.

Last wednesday I was walking round trying to find people wearing red shoes. When I was going to go back home, as I hadn’t found anything interesting, I saw a woman in her late 70’s or even in her 80’s wearing bright red shoes with a very smart grey pencil skirt. She went into a cafe and I stared at her while I tried to gather up the courage to go in and ask her if I could take a picture of her shoes. I finally did. A friend of her was wearing garnet ones. Ten minutes later, and after taking pictures of not only the woman I saw and amazed me but of her friends too, I left the place with a feeling I had never had before. I rode my bike home and I couldn’t stop smiling.

My most personal pair of red shoes |
I love sewing and creating clothes but I don’t know if fashion has the same effect on me. In fact, if someone asked me what I like the most about it I guess I couldn’t find any answer. I usually consider it as something mayfly, without any personality at all, or at least not from an individual point of view. Coco Chanel once said “la mode se démodé, le style jamais” and she was quite right. Red shoes never go out of fashion, they always have style. And personally, I love them.
Me apasiona coser. Y a mí, personalmente, me encantan.
